The price of petrol is being cut by Rs10 and diesel by Rs7.5.
Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister of the coalition government led by prime minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday night, that the government has decided to reduce petroleum prices by Rs10 per litre.
Announcing the new rates, it was stated that petrol will sell at Rs214.80 for the fortnight, against the previous price of Rs224.80 per litre.
“According to our calculations, petrol prices will be reduced by Rs10 to Rs214.8 after midnight. [The price of] high-speed diesel will be decreased by Rs7.5 to Rs227.80,” he said.
The price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has declined by Rs7 from Rs234.8 to Rs 227.80 per litre.
However, the price of light diesel also declined by Rs10 rupees, and the government has fixed the new price at Rs169 per litre.
According to the Finance Minister, the price of kerosene oil also fell by Rs7 and reached Rs 170.83 from Rs180.83 per litre.
Earlier in Nov 30, the price of kerosene oil was reduced by Rs10 while the price of light diesel oil was reduced by Rs7.5 per litre.
