KARACHI: The party members of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will meet the chairman of PTI, Imran khan on Saturday, today. This will be the formal meeting prior to the last year’s elections. The meeting will be held at Zaman Park residence in Lahore at 3 pm. Sardar Tanveer, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, and other party members reached Pakistan on Friday.
PTI landslide in July formed its government by making Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi the 13th Prime Minister. As per sources, Niazi messaged Imran Khan to call for a parliamentary party meeting but no response on the matter was attained. Sardar Tanveer replaced Niazi, earlier this year in April after Khan was ousted in a no-confidence motion.
This will be the formal meeting of the regional parliamentary party after PTI came into power in 2018. The reason for summoning the AJK parliamentary party meeting is yet unknown. However, the press release stated that the meeting will have talks on local government polls and administration-related problems. As well as India’s increasing influence in the region.
Before meeting Imran Khan, and the politicians of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will have a formal lunch at Punjab Assembly and later a dinner hosted by Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhary Pervez Elahi.
