Fawad Chaudhry Warns Punjab Governor From Any ‘Adventure’

KARACHIFawad Chaudhry, PTI leader on Tuesday warned Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman, to “refrain from any adventures”. Chaudhary said that Pervez Elahi, Punjab Chief Minister will not be seeking any vote of confidence from the assembly today.

The statement from the former Federal Minister came when a deadline was already set by the Punjab Governor today at 4 pm for the CM to acquire the vote of confidence from the Provincial assembly. Sibtain Khan, speaker at Punjab Assembly referred to the order as “illegal” against the jurisdiction of the constitution by Governor.

In the ruling, the speaker mentioned of Article 54(3) and Article 127 that he referred was not in accordance with the laws. The statement says, “The house is in session since Oct 23, 2022, and under Articles 54(3) and 127. No fresh session can be convened unless and until the current one ends,”. Fawad refused to hold any vote of confidence, adding, more he said that the speaker has also issued the ruling.

Rana Sanaullah says the constitution cannot be resisted

In response to Fawad’s statement, Rana Sanaullah, Interior Minister said PTI could not oppose the constitution. Sanaullah in his tweet says, that if the Chief Minister does not conduct a vote of confidence, he will not remain the Chief Minister.

Adding more he said, that if PTI has a total number which they don’t have, then why they are not going for the vote of confidence.
