Najam Sethi has headed PCB in the previous tenure of PMLN, while Shakil Shaikh is the member of governing board.
“Government would issue notifications through which constitution of cricket board applied in 2019 would be dislodged to restore the constitution of 2014 of PCB,” said sources.
Sources said that a new notification will be issued regarding the announcement of the set to run up the board, adding that the selection committee will be constituted for team selection, for the upcoming series with New Zealand.
Hence, the interim committee will announce the name of four superstar players for the series with New Zealand.
IPC’s summary put forth the names of Najam Sethi and Shakil Sheikh as new PCB Governing Board members in place of Asad Ali Khan and Ramiz Raja.
Being whitewashed in the homeland raised the question about the leadership of the cricket board. And nominee Shakil Shaikh commented as well on the performance of Raja.
“Pakistan is on brink of humiliating ‘WHITEWASH’ for 1st time in 67 years in home Test series by England,” he said.
In a tweet, he said: “It tells how Pakistan Cricket is damaged by IK and his hand-picked Ramiz Raja”.
It is worth mentioning here that Ramiz Raja was appointed as PCB chairman by the former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on September 13, 2021.
