KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) rejected rumors of imposing ban on visa to certain specific cities of Pakistan, on Monday. Consulate General of the UAE Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi stressed that no such ban has been placed by the UAE government.
The United Arab Emirates on Monday strongly denied reports of not providing visas to Pakistani citizens belonging to certain cities, terming it as “fake news”.
The statement was made by the Consulate General of the UAE Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi.
Reports were being circulated that the gulf country is not allowing visas to some of the Pakistani cities including Abbottabad, Attock, Bajaur Agency, Chakwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Hunza, Quetta, Kasur, Kohat, Kotli, Khushab, Khurrum Agency, Larkana, Mohmand Agency, Muzaffargarh, Nawabshah, Parachinar, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Skardu and Sukkur.
Remeithi added that Pakistani citizens can apply for visit or any other UAE visa, adding that they are being provided visas.

According to fake reports circulating earlier, “restriction has not been officially announced, but people with certain cities as their ‘place of birth’ would not be awarded visit visas for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah… Pakistani citizens having the following cities as their ‘place of birth’ might not get the UAE to visit visa: Abbottabad, Attock, Bajaur Agency, Chakwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Hunza, Quetta, Kasur, Kohat, Kotli AJK, Khushab, Kurram Agency, Larkana, Mohmand Agency, Muzaffargarh, Nawabshah, Parachinar, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Skardu and Sukkur”.
The travel agent mentioned in a poster that, “please do not apply for visa tp UAE if you are a citizen of the cities aforementioned. Your visa will be rejected, and the fee is non-refundable.”
However, Remeithi said he personally issued visas to those who are living in the cities named in the fake poster.
