DERA ISMAIL KHAN: As the country faces terrorism challenges once again following a series of attacks and threats posed by banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to root out the menace of terrorism from Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif took a pledge to combat terrorism in Pakistan, during a ceremony of laying foundation stone of development projects for Southern Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his concerns over the rise of terrorist incidents in the province including the one in Bannu. Lauding the sacrifices and the successful operation launched by the special services unit. He praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies in eliminating terrorists.
He said the security personnel who had laid down their lives for the motherland would be always remembered for their valor and braver. He also expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of security personnel in Balochistan in the terrorist attack.
“We offer our condolences; the officers and personnel who were martyred in this incident are our heroes, their sacrifices will always be remembered,” he added.
The prime minister pledged to dismantle terrorists and inform that he would be chairing a meeting in regard to scrutinize and strategize on how to combat terrorism in the country. And paving ways to root out the menace of terrorism from its roots.
“Terrorism rate raises by 52%”
Former Minister of Information Chaudhary Fawad Hussain expressed his concerns referring to spike in terror activities and said its alarming to note that terrorism is returning to Pakistan.
He noted how the change in government regimes have resulted in a massive increase in terrorism incidents by 52%.
Five soldiers embraced martyrdom and many were injured after seven blasts blew up in different regions of Balochistan. According to reports, three blasts ripped through Quetta, two in Turbat, and one each in districts of Hub and Kohlu, during a clearance operation against terrorists in Kahan, Balochistan on Sunday.
PTI leader claimed that after the coalition government started ruling, more than 270 people have been killed in the various incidents, while more than 500 hundred have been injured.
Furthermore, he said during the tenure of PTI, Pakistan had reached the position of number one country for tourist destinations, and we now as a nation have successfully traveled from terrorism to tourism.
“US and United kingdom restricted their staff and were not allowed to go five stars hotels of Islamabad,” said Fawad Chaudry, adding, “this is the journey of 8 months of the coalition government.”
Earlier, on Monday, the Embassies of the US and the UK issued a notification to their staff to restrict movements in the capital and avoid going outside unnecessarily.
