ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah, Interior Minister in an interview with a TV channel talked about the growing terrorism in the country. He said Tehreek-e-Taliban were being operated by Afghanistan and were never dispersed. He emphasized the urgency to hold an All Parties Conference on National Security among all the parties, as the need of the hour against terrorism.
The Interior Minister revealed around 7000 to 10,000 TTP militants accompanied by 25,000 family members are present in the region. Adding more he said, this makes the locals who have come back join hands in crimes like extortion and blackmailing, adding that the provincial government failed to curb them.
TTP had many groups in many regions. These groups want to have a dialogue and want to leave weapons, however, some want to implement the Shariat laws likewise in Afghanistan. Numerous have surrendered their arms and ammunition.
The Minister said this has been a failure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The federal government is ready to “help” the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also added, that the KP CM was approached by the PM for a meeting but they did not respond. However, the KP government needs to come and cooperate with others and federal governments.
The army is competent in the elimination of terrorism. He also said, that our secret agency, Army, and law enforcement agency can terminate terrorism, and terrorism cannot rule. Furthermore, Sanaullah added, Pakistan Army is deployed for the protection of territories. He also said, that if the provincial government wants, they can call the federal government. The Federal Minister seemed certain about Pakistan Army and their action against them.
