ISLAMABAD: The matter of approval of mass resignations couldn’t be solved on Thursday. The meeting between the delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Speaker National Assembly, Raja Parvaiz Ashraf, proved unsuccessful. The Speaker directed members to appear individually before him for verification of resignations.
The former head of Parliament house Asad Qaiser termed the conditions of Raja Parvaiz Ashraf as illegal.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Qaiser said, “to avert our resignations is an unconstitutional act, and the Deputy Speaker of that time had accepted the resignations.”
“Speaker Raja Parvaiz Ashraf has already accepted the resignations of our eleven members, so why does he want individual verification and handwritten resignations from other members?” questioned Qaiser.
According to the sources, the Speaker invited a delegation to the Assembly and offered to take their eight months salaries as well.
Aamir Dogar said, “Our members had resigned, then why should we take the salaries, do accept our remaining resignations.”
The Speaker, while reasoning the acceptance of 11 resignations, said he had approved those resignations through media and Twitter accounts, said sources.
Furthermore, sources claimed that the delegation demanded the approval of all resignations in the same context.
“Asad Qaiser complained to Speaker that the way the coalition government de-seated Mian Muhammad Soomro is shameless, there is no example of it existing in history.
However, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf assured the delegation to come back to the parliament, “I will give you full chance to express your views”.
The negotiation between PTI Delegation and the speaker National Assembly was rendered unsuccessful, and the dark clouds of political uncertainty still shadows the National Assembly.
