KARACHI: The politics in Karachi has begun to unravel on a new path. Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori vowed to reunite important political parties on Thursday, for the sake of the commercial hub.
The Governor, on Thursday, met with the Chairman of Pak Sar Zameen Party, Syed Mustafa Kamal, and the President of the Party, Anees Qaim Khani, and invited them to join hands for the city.
In an interview with a private channel, Tessori said, “I am trying to rejoin a political party.”
He indirectly gave a sign of reunification of factions of MQM and said the party will work under the supervision of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the convener of MQM Pakistan.
He said, “I want all my friends to work together and be passionate for the sake of the city.” Mustafa Kamal, Farooque Sattar, and other allies expressed their passion for Karachi.
“Karachi is a friend of everyone, but it is converting itself into the city of criminals for a few months, we should focus to restore the city to its original position.” adding “it would be harmful to the city if we spend our time on unneeded criticism,” said Tessori.
He asserted the parties should join together and pledge to build the city. The citizens of Karachi are besieged by the shortage of water and other necessities while we are fighting for petty politics. He admitted, “we are harming our city and the citizens of the Karachi.”
After the meeting with Governor Sindh, Chairman PSP Mustafa Kamal showed a green signal as well and said we are ready to work together to resolve the issues of the city.
“We aren’t going to create any front against people’s party but we just want to restore Karachi,” said Kamal.
Expressing his views, Farooq Sattar said, “He had no problem being reunited.”
Opposition Criticism On Unification
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf castigated the reunification of MQM. “The leaders settlement will ruin the refugees (Muhajir)” said Firdous Shamim Naqvi in his statement.
“Governor Sindh is focusing more on acting than its constitutional duties, an attempt is being made to sell the rejected people of Karachi in a new packaging,” said Haleem Adil Sheikh.
