“There Would be Polling Or Not”, The Queue Outside Polling Stations Raises Questions On IHC & ECP’s Judgements

Despite the order of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed to conduct Local Government (LG) Polls in the federal capital. The matter created confusion for voters standing outside the closed polling stations.

On Friday, IHC passed the judgment to ECP to hold LGs in the capital, but instead of polling ECP filed an intra-court appeal in the morning.

The decision of IHC and ECP created a confusing environment for voters, termed the situation as the stubbornness of the election commission.

The Chairman PTI, Imran Khan, claimed that the election commission is the B-Team of Important government, and failed to holding polls is proof of the nexus.

“Despite order of the court, the commission didn’t hold elections, and they are saying they were not prepared for the LG election. The court should take action against ECP”, Demands Asad Umar, Secretary of PTI.

“The scared government and puppet election commissioner are making a mockery of the people and constitution”, says Fawad Chaudhry, PTI Leader.

The ECP, on 27 Dec, The member’s bench decided to postpone LG polls in the federal capital. After the plea of PTI and Jamat-e-Islami single bench of the Islamabad high court ordered to conduct of elections today (Saturday).

No decision appeare yet regards the Local Government Elections in Federal Capital.
