ISLAMABAD: In a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on Monday chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad highlighted “key decisions concerning security and the economy”.
The NSC meeting is in its second phase with the objective to fight against the growing terrorism but also to balance the damaging economy. The meeting will decide significant decisions following the proposal of the first meeting on NSC. Moreover, the meeting also discussed national security and foreign policy attended by various senior military and civilian leaders.
Earlier on Friday NSC Meeting was held to discuss the arising terrorism followed by more than 400 terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil.
First Meeting on NSC
A meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) was chaired by Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Friday. The meeting discussed national security and foreign policy. As the TTP attacks are rising and the escalating terrorism is growing in the country. Moreover, the meeting was attended by civilian and military officials.
The decision was taken to pay heed to Thursday’s first conference of the Chief of Army Staff, Syed Asim Munir. The meeting corps commander that took place at General Headquarters was summoned to discuss the rising terrorist attacks in the country.
In the past months, numerous attacks have been executed on Pakistani soil by Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Islamic State, and Gul Bahadur Group along with the insurgents in Baluchistan that had an alliance with TTP. A few countries including the UK, USA, Australia, and Saudi Arabia have announced restrict their nationals from unnecessary travel to Pakistan.
