LAHORE: On Wednesday, Imran Khan knocked on the gate of the Lahore High court (LHC) against the notice of the Election commission of Pakistan seeking to remove him from the chairmanship of the Party.

Khan, in a challenging petition, made ECP Party.

“The election commission is exceeding its authority and taking action to remove me from the position of party head,” stated khan in the petition.

Imran Khan took a stance that he had shown his all asserts before the election commission, but they are taking illegal action.

Furthermore, he said that on 7 Dec, the election commission took unconstitutional action against him.

Imran Khan pleaded with the LHC that passed the order to forestall the ECP and suspend the notice of commission.

In October, under article 63(1)(p), the commission disqualified the Khan in the Toshakhana reference for making “false statements and an incorrect declaration.”

The written order said that the Khan had “intentionally and deliberately” violated the provisions of Sections 137, 167, and 173 of the Elections Act 2017, as he “has made false statements and an incorrect declaration before the commission in the statement of assets and liabilities filed by him for the year 2020-21.”

The ECP also said: “Accordingly, he (Imran Khan) ceases to be a member of the National Assembly and legal proceedings will be initiated against him under Section 190 (2) of the Elections Act 2017.”
