Telephonic Conversation: Pak and UAE Affirm Expanding Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening and broadening the unique bilateral ties between Pakistan and the UAE.

As per the PM media wing, in a telephone conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the president of the UAE for providing Pakistan with financial and material assistance following the destruction due to floods in Pakistan.

The prime minister requested his support for active participation from the UAE and briefed him on the upcoming “International Conference on Resilient Pakistan,” on January 9 in Geneva. The main goal of the conference is to increase Pakistan’s climate resilience. President Sheikh Mohamed expressed the UAE’s devoted support for such efforts.

“Pakistan and the UAE enjoy close fraternal ties for five decades that are rooted firmly in common belief and shared values and culture. The UAE is Pakistan’s largest trading partner in the Middle East and a major source of investments,” the press release added. The UAE president was also extended an invitation by the prime minister to visit Pakistan.
