ISLAMABAD/RIYADH: Chief of Army Staff, Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from 4th to 10th January. A press release by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday informed a meeting of “brotherly countries” to discuss matters related to “military cooperation and bilateral relations”.
COAS, Asim Munir, met Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Defense Minister discussed Pakistan-Saudi Military and determine to strengthened mutual relations. The Defense Minister extended his heartiest wishes to the newly COAS. Other matters including regional and international issues were also discussed. COAS will pay another visit to UAE. COAS was appointed on 29 November last year, this becomes his first official foreign visit.
In a tweet by the Defense Minister, Khalid Bin Salman said, “pleased to meet the COAS”, moreover, both countries have discussed the “strategic partnership”.
