KARACHI: Sindh High Court on Friday permitted the girl to be handed over to her parents. The court headed by Mr. Justice Iqbal Kalhoro ordered parents to provide full protection to the girl.
“I want to go with my parents”, said Dua Zehra to the Sindh High Court.
Moreover, the court ordered to deposit Rs 10 lakh as surety bond for the protection of the girl. In Addition, court had also directed the child protection officer or lady police officer to pay a weekly visit to see the girl. The report of the visit is to be submitted to the city court.
“The child is being handed over to you, you have a big responsibility”, says the court. Mehdi Kazmi’s lawyer, Jibran Nasir has stated a request for permission grant to the girl for the pilgrimage. However, Zaheer’s lawyer, Farooq confronted the permission, which the court denied.
Moreover, the court ordered Mehdi Kazmi, Zehra’s father to not take the girl abroad. Shelter home, where the child was residing for several months were ordered to return the child to the parents. After the legal proceedings, the girl will be handed over to the family.
Zaheer’s request was dismissed by the court. The interim custody of the girl was handed to parents, and further permanent custody will be decided by the trial court. Furthermore, the court directed the father to submit a bond of one million for bail.
