KARACHI:The Sindh government stands on its commitment referring resolves transportation issues for citizens and approving grants to procure more buses for Karachi.
On Friday, in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon requested to acquire more buses for Sindh.
The cabinet has approved the grant of Rs1.7 billion for purchasing new buses.
According to the statement, ministry will purchase 43 new buses for people’s bus service in 2023.
However, the Sindh government has already bought 50 electric buses for Karachi, 7 Nov Sharjeel Memon inaugurated, but those buses have never been seen on routes.
At the time of the inauguration, the minister said, “They will announce the route of buses later.”
Meanwhile, in the meeting regarding public transport service, minister of tourism, Sardar Shah, requested to run buses for tourists.
CM directed Shah to submit his request in written form.
Shah said, “Aforementioned recommended buses would be travel on Kanjhar and other places of Sindh.”
