LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan demanded a strong Joint Investigation Team (JIT) under the supervision of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial to Probe the Wazirabad assassination on him and also hinted that he knows the people who attempted that attack.
On 6 January, the counsel of the prime suspect claimed that the attack on Imran Khan was planted by his party.
Khan said, “I earlier stated this as well, that I only hope for justice from one place Supreme court, as powerful people will not allow the investigation to take place.”
During the virtual Press conference, Khan said, “Premier Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah were involved in Assassination, but they couldn’t do that alone.”
“People who about whom we think that they are the guard of the country they were involved in Wazirabad incident,” hinting Khan.
“If you were involved in attempting an assassination on a person who is not a part of any foreign conspiracy, never even involved in corruption, so do you care about your nation?” Khan questioned.
Khan asked, “Who said to DPO Punjab to send the video of the assassination to our opponent journalist, who told the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to create a video which they released at midnight.”
He said “they changed the background of the video, if they were not scared so why did they try to hide the evidence?
Khan further said that when Naveed, the suspect in the assassination bid, was arrested, his confessional video statement was released almost immediately “even when I had not reached the hospital after getting shot.”
The PTI chief said that Naveed claimed he was working alone. “He was programmed to say this.”
