KARACHI: Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh on Monday instructed Sohail Rajput, Chief Secretary regarding the rising inflation all over across the province. On the directives of the CM, commissioners, and district councils were ordered to control inflation.
“Artificial inflation has been done across the province”, said Shah.
Moreover, the Assistant commissioner was also instructed to review the prices for edible items. Furthermore, on CM directives, the assistant commissioner was ordered to regulate prices every day. Shah added, by controlling the prices, the public should be given relief. Rajput on CM’s orders has issued instructions to the commissioners.
Inflation for Food items
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) revealed that the prices of some food commodities surged in December of the year, 2022. The food commodities include onions, wheat, rice, chicken, tea, cooking oil, fresh milk, and other essential items.
In 2022, the inflation in Pakistan rose to 24.5% in December from November 23.8%. In 2022, December, the prices for food items hiked by 35.5% more than the previous month November which was 23.8%.
