TTP, IS-K Behind Multiple Attacks In Pakistan: Study Reveals

With Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) increasing attacks on Pakistan soil endangering the lives and lives of People. TTP that becoming a major threat to Pakistan while being assisted by Baloch insurgents and Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan, as said by the Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah.

The attacks in the year 2022, have increased by 27 percent from the previous years. However, and certainly in the attacks are expected to rise in the following year. More than 200 terrorist attacks include 14 suicide bombings. As of 2021, the number of terrorist bombings has increased by 25 percent.

A recent research study report by Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) titled, “Pakistan Security Report 2022″ precisely talked about countering extreme violence, Regional security, strategic studies, and the Afghan situation. The prohibited terrorist organisation carried out 89 attacks similarly Islamic State’s Khorasan (IS-K) carried out 23 terrorist offences.

Most attacks were targeted at security personnel and law enforcement agencies. More than 200 security officers were injured with more than 100 civilian lives taken. The report revealed, more than 400 were wounded in these attacks. The attack regions mainly targeted were Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Similarly, the tension in the Pak-Afghan border is yet alarming resulting in 15 cross-border attacks in 2022. A total of 87 anti-militant operations were conducted by the military in 25 districts that resulted in 327 deaths including militants, soldiers, policemen, Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, and civilians.
