In an effort to increase access to high-quality education, TikTok and Edtech startup, Edkasa have announced a scholarship programme. Its aim is to award online study grants to 18,000 deserving students in Pakistan. The initiative builds on the success of their #ExamReady campaign, which was launched last year.

This collaboration is a first-of-its-kind. TikTok’s year-long collaboration with Edkasa and LUMS in September developed a digital learning initiative. It will support online education and distant learning for high school students.

What does it offer?

Over 500 educational videos covering Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics are available online as part of the #ExamReady initiative, which aims to assist millions of Pakistani students. These videos also include study advice and exam-related hacks. Since the initiative, educational films on Pakistani TikTok garnered 665 million views and about 100 million video submissions from students.

Who will be awarded the scholarship?

The scholarships will be given out in accordance with the standards and regulations established jointly by Edkasa and LUMS, in harmony and cooperation with TikTok, the campaign’s online driver. The scholarships are available to students all around Pakistan and are geared towards the underprivileged community.
