LAHORE: Following the successful collection of confidence from the Assembly, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, has taken the next step and advised the governor of Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman to dissolve the Provincial Assembly (PA).
On Thursday evening CM Punjab meet with his ally Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf Imran Khan, and after that sent a letter of dissolution to the governor of Punjab.
Under article 112 (A); The Governor shall dissolve the Provincial Assembly if so advised by the Chief Minister; and the Provincial Assembly shall, unless sooner dissolved, stand dissolved at the expiration of forty-eight hours after the Chief Minister has so advised.
“We are standing on our legal agenda, and the Punjab Assembly will dissolve the next day if there would not be a legal resistance,” says Fawad Chaudhary.
The development came on surfaced when Chief Minister collected the trust of parliament amid protests and chaos from the opposition.
Meanwhile, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi got 186 votes of confidence from the member of the Assembly.
Hence, the opposition rejected the results which were announced in the favor of Elahi.
“The vote of confidence has been bulldozed by the Punjab government,” because the proceeding was against with constitution and was opposed to the requirements of the law,” claimed Sana Ullah.
On 17 Dec, PTI chairman Imran Khan announced the dissolution of the assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
