In the second ODI, Devon Conway helped with his convincing hundred to beat Pakistan by 79 runs.
Prior to a collapse that saw New Zealand lose nine wickets for 78 runs and restrict them to 261 all out in 49.5 overs, the left-hander hit 101 and captain Kane Williamson made 85.
Despite a valiant 79 from Captain Babar Azam, Pakistan lost wickets frequently, and they were eventually bowled for 182, which resulted in a 1-1 tie in the three-match series.
Captain Williamson said in his statement that,
“Even though we had a good partnership, maybe 300 wasn´t realistic but we got to a par total in the end.”
“We knew it would be a tough chase. We knew we had to get a little bit out of the surface, and the two seamers set the tone for us.”
Captain Babar Azam said in his statement,
“We came back well with the bat.”
“But when the spinners came on, it was turning sharply. Credit to them.”
