PTI and JI to Protest against the Delay in Local Body Elections

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday have discorded from accepting any further delay in the Local body government election in Karachi and Hyderabad. The Local body elections that were too held on 15 January have been postponement in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Badu.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman JI president referred to the decision of the postponement as, an “ambush” for the people of Karachi and Hyderabad. Rehman refused to accept the Sindh Government’s decision.

JI workers have been instructed by Rehman to stage a protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan and the court. Adding more, He said, will not let MQM and PPP flee. Moreover, he said to announce the party’s strategy by 10 am today. The JI president referred to the postponement as “backstabbing” and accused MQM and PPP of their wrong deeds.

He also named both political parties as, robbers who have not let youth flourish in their rights lacking their basic education and rights.

PTI to protest

Furthermore, the PTI has also decided to oppose Sindh Government adding to the challenge decision in the court. Ali Haider Zaidi, former Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs said, the Sindh government is afraid of PTI’s win.  PTI will stage the protest on Saturday, Zaidi said.
