Pakistani opener and left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman has joined the list of the few openers in the world who have an average of over 45.
South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, England’s Jonny Bairstow, India’s Rohit Sharma, and Australia’s Shane Watson and David Warner are already on this list. Fakhar Zaman scored a magnificent hundred against New Zealand in the third one-day international on Friday in Karachi.

After scoring 101 runs in 122 balls, Zaman became one of the select few openers in ODI cricket to have an average over 45 and a strike rate above 90.
Fakhar’s century won’t help Pakistan win the series against New Zealand; the Kiwis won the last match of the series by 2 wickets and also won the series by 2-1.
In the second One-Day International on Wednesday in Karachi, New Zealand’s opener Devon Conway led his team to a comfortable 79-run victory over Pakistan with a stunning century.
The left-hander scored 101 runs and captain Kane Williamson hit 85 runs before a collapse that saw New Zealand lose nine wickets for 78 runs and restrict them to 261 all out in 49.5 overs.
Pakistan lost wickets repeatedly despite captain Babar Azam’s heroic 79, and they were eventually bowled out for 182, which led to a 1-1 tie in the three-match series.
