Today marks 11th death anniversary of Arfa Karim Randhawa, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional. The Pakistani computer prodigy who earned the title at the age of 9 in 2004.
Karim represented Pakistan in a number of international forums. She was also given the opportunity by Bill Gates to travel to the American headquarters of Microsoft. As the youngest person to pass the MCP exam, Karim’s name resounded throughout the IT industry.
On the 113th anniversary of Fatima Jinnah’s birth, on August 2, 2005, Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz gave Arfa the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of science and technology. In the same month, she also earned the ‘Salaam Pakistan Youth’ Award from the Pakistani President.
She passed away on January 14, 2012, at the age of 16 after nd passed away at the age of sixteen.
