PSL8: PSL 2023 Expand to the USA, Details Inside

Fahad Pervez

All franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) agreed to the suggestion of expanding the PSL to the United States of America (USA).

As per the details, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) arranged the PSL governing meeting in Karachi to discuss several issues with the league.

Franchises mentioned during the meeting that they were interested in buying Pakistan Junior League (PJL) teams following the cricket board’s agreement with a significant commercial partner company.

It is important to note that, according to news reports from last week, the PCB Chairman had signed a 20-year deal with a commercial partner company to ensure the success of his visionary initiative.

The majority of the rights, including the commercial and production rights, are subject to sale under the terms of this memorandum of understanding (MoU), and the board could be sued if it violates the agreement in the future.

However, due to recent comments made by Ramiz Raja and Faisal Hasnain regarding cricket-related activities in Peshawar, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi chose not to attend the meeting.

It’s important to note that Javed Afridi also skipped last week’s draft ceremony for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League, which was held in Karachi.

Earlier, According to rumors, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is indecisive on whether to hold the opening ceremony at Multan. The PSL 8’s opening game on February 13 will probably take place in Karachi. A game will only be played in Multan during the round of 16.

As per the sources, the management committee of the PCB still hasn’t decided whether they are going to shift the venue of the opening ceremony or not.

After the ODI Series ends between Pakistan and New Zealand the schedule will be revealed for PSL’s eight editions.

The first round of the league was scheduled to take place in Multan and Karachi. Lahore and Rawalpindi will also host the PSL 8 tournament.

The chairman of the PSL management committee Najam Seth had also said Quetta will also host a few matches of the PSL 8.

The first edition of the PSL was played in the UAE due to security reasons, and after that, the second season’s final was played in Lahore, and the PSL’s first match in Pakistan was the final of the second season.
