The user claimed the ace batsman was her ex who refused to marry her. As Babar has a massive following, the account was taken down in the next 24 hours.
The ‘misleading article’:
However, netizens had already taken screenshots that went viral. #WeStandWithBabar & #BabarAzam were top-trending on Twitter. Fox Cricket took the liberty of posting an article on the matter, and here’s what the title read: “Cricket superstar accused of sexting teammate’s girlfriend as images allegedly leak online.”
Babar’s following schooled the publication for misleading the audience on the scandal.
What really bugged netizens was that Fox Cricket had mentioned that the authenticity of the material remains unclear.’ The question is: Why did they penned an article then?
The community is tagging Babar Azam as they request him to sue the publication for ‘defamation.’
