Australia thrashed Pakistan by 10 wickets on Wednesday to establish a commanding 2-0 lead in the women’s ODI series, which consists of three games.

Australia’s opening batsmen Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield assisted their team in achieving victory in the 20th over while chasing a target of 126.

Litchfield returned unbeaten on 67 from 61 balls, smashing 10 boundaries. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Mooney scored 57 from 55 balls, which included six fours.

Earlier, Pakistan lost their opening batter, Sidra Amin, in the second over with two runs on the board and having elected to bat first.

The pair scored 41 runs for the second wicket when Muneeba was caught for 18 off 41 balls, which included three fours.

The previous match’s half-centurion for Pakistan, Nida Dar, again showed some resistance before being run out after scoring 24 off 38 balls, which included two fours.

Bismah was another batsman who contributed, scoring 21 off 46 balls and hitting one-four.

Darcie Brown, Australia’s player of the match, took three wickets for 32 runs, while Annabel Sutherland and Alana King each took two wickets.

Both sides will now appear in the third ODI scheduled to take place at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
