On January 19, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake shook Islamabad, along with a number of other towns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu.

In the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, tremors were also felt in Charsadda, Peshawar, Batgaram, Swabi, Swat, and other places. Lahore and other cities in Punjab also experienced tremors.
With a depth of 190 kilometres, the Hindukash region served as the earthquake’s epicentre.
