LAHORE: The parliamentary committee failed to select the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, and the matter has been forwarded to the Election commission.
Earlier, yesterday, to select the caretaker CM Punjab the speaker of the, Punjab Assembly, Sibtain Khan, formed a Parliamentary committee.
The 2 hours long meeting didn’t reach a consensus on 4 names, however, each party sent 2 names of candidates, but the meeting was found unsuccessful.

Raja Basharat, a member of PTI said, “Our names were much better than the opposition, but PMLN doesn’t agree on that names.”
“The committee decided to send the name of the candidates recommended by both parties will be sent to the election commission,” confirmed Basharat.
He further said, “Hopefully election commission will select the best person to head the province.”
He warned if the election commission selects an inappropriate person for the position then we will use every forum for justice.

Earlier, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi also warned that he and his allies are aware of the ECP’s intentions and have threatened to oppose the caretaker CM selected by the ECP.
Leader of PTI, Mian Aslam Iqbal, said Naveed Cheema Sukhair and Naseer Ahmed Khan were our recommended candidates.
“The person who has experience in administration should be the caretaker chief minister of Punjab,” he says.
