KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: Mohammad Azam Khan, a veteran bureaucrat, would serve as the interim Chief Minister decided on Friday by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the opposition. Outgoing Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Leader of the Opposition Akram Khan Durrani agreed to nominate Khan in a letter to Governor Haji Ghulam Ali that they both signed.

The governor was urged to go ahead and name Khan as the acting Chief Minister. After the discussion between the two parties, Durrani spoke to the media in Peshawar and revealed that he and the PTI had each submitted two names.

CM Mahmood stated that out of the five candidates under consideration, both parties selected and decided on Khan for the position. Parvez Khattak, PTI leader, was a key participant in the meeting, according to Durrani.

In the province, inflation and insecurity are major issues. We won’t encourage the country to become even more dejected, he asserted. The governor signed and authorized the chief minister’s summary for the dissolution of the provincial legislature on Wednesday, at which point the KP Assembly was adjourned.

Additionally, the development occurs just a few days after the Punjab Assembly was dissolved. But because of the impasse between the administration and the opposition, no caretaker CM has yet been chosen.
