KARACHI: A father shot and killed his daughter in a city court on Monday. The girl had come to the court for a court marriage, and a policeman was also wounded in the incident.
According to the SSP City, police have arrested the accused and recovered the weapon. The accused was angry with the girl when she entered the court premises, and he opened fire.
The injured policeman, Imran Zaman, along with lady constables, had brought the deceased, Hajra, to appear in court.
SSP said that as a result of the firing, Hajra was killed, and Constable Amir and another man, Wajid, were injured.
The body of the deceased and the injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
Investigation
An investigation revealed that the deceased, Hajra, was 18 to 20 years old, while the murderer, her father, is 65 years old.
The SSP described the murder as an “honor killing” and added that the head constable deployed at gate 4 has been suspended.
An inquiry committee has been constituted for the investigation of the case.
