Pakistani star cricketer Shahid Afridi condemns the Quran burning incident in Sweden. Afridi took to Twitter and stated,
“The Quran is glorious, the very book that teaches us tolerance towards other religions. Promoting and showcasing of burning the Quran is a shameless act. I strongly condemn and stand against it. Islamophobic acts are not an expression of freedom of speech.”
There were protests going around the world over this incident in Pakistan, Turkey, and many other Muslim countries.
Shahid Afridi is a Pakistani former cricketer and he is considered one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of cricket. He made his debut for Pakistan in 1996 and retired from international cricket in 2018. He is known for his aggressive captaincy and his ability to hit long sixes.
