Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, has taken notice of a 13 year-old domestic worker’s torture case.
According to the police, the victim was identified as Maryam. She was severely burned after being beaten by her employers residing in Saddar, Lahore.
Maryam’s parents claimed that the perpetrators were hesitant to let them see their daughter. “The girl was injured, she was bruising badly. She had been working for around nine months at their home,” says the police.
The couple who mistreated the girl fled after the South Cantonment police filed a case. The police dispatched teams to find the offenders.

Naqvi became aware of the situation and requested an IGP report. The Caretaker CM promised swift arrest of the individuals. He ordered the hospital staff to provide the girl with finest care possible.
Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamiana assured that the couple will be arrested soon, “All available resources will be deployed to conduct an investigation. Violence against women and children wont be condoned,” he vowed.
