KARACHI: Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail stated that Ishaq Dar attempted to avoid the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which caused detrimental effects on Pakistan.
In an interview to private news channel, he also criticized the Imran Khan-led PTI government, stating that Imran Khan broke commitments with the IMF, leading to unbearable consequences for Pakistan.
furthermore, Ismail said that when they came into government, there were several difficulties they faced and the devastating flood also raised concerns.

After my removal, Mr. Dar believed that he could control everything without the IMF and attempted to do so, which resulted in a significant loss for Pakistan.
Many people, including myself, knew that his attempt would be unsuccessful, as we saw. It sounds good that the government has agreed to revive the IMF program.
He said the government is working under harsh conditions set by the IMF and has reached a consensus to comply with all conditions.

Miftah said, “I knew about my removal,” and reiterated that Ishaq Dar was behind his removal.

He stated that Dar criticized his governance and posted tweets and messages against him.
Earlier, on a Podcast Miftah Ismail Claimed, “His oust was a result of Ishaq Dar Campaign.”
Prime Minister and cabinet were happy with my performance, but Dar has run a six-month campaign which was the reason for my oust, he said.
