Pink Bus Service For Women To Operate From February

KARACHI: An exclusive Pink Bus service has been launched in Karachi on Thursday. The Pink bus service is specifically designed for working women. The bus service will become active on February 1st announced in a meeting held at the residence of Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon.

In a tweet, Memon announced that the service will be the first Pakistan bus service dedicated to females. The first route selected is from Model Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal, to Tower. The bus service will run every 20 minutes during office hours in the morning and evening.

Additionally, orange, red, white, and now pink, are among the transit projects of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Karachi. Memon stated that the PPP is moving fast towards fulfilling the promises made to the people of Karachi.

The current operations of the bus services in Sukkur, Larkana, and Hyderabad were also discussed. Furthermore, the launch of routes 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Karachi was also reviewed. The minister also directed to start of the bus service in Sukkur on January 29th.

The Minister had also directed Managing Director Zubair Ahmed of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority to visit the remaining routes of the Peoples Bus Service and review the improvements of the roads. The bus service will soon run on routes 4, 5, 6, and 7 so that more commuters can take advantage of it.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Abdul Halim Sheikh, MD Sindh Mass Transit Authority Zubair Chana, and Operations Manager NRTC Abdul Shakur.
