Parvez Elahi apologises for his “offensive” comments to Fawad Chaudhry

LAHORE: Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, leader of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and former chief minister, apologized on Thursday for making disparaging remarks about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry.

The PML-Q leader apologized on Twitter for his remarks, adding he had long known Fawad’s family. He also expressed regret for hurting Fawad’s family’s feelings.

Earlier on Thursday, Elahi made a dig at close aides to PTI chief Imran Khan without naming anyone. In reference to Fawad Chaudhry’s latest detention. He stated that it would have been preferable if he had been arrested earlier.

Dissolution of Punjab Assembly

The former Punjab chief minister said he requested the PTI head not to dissolve the Punjab Assembly, but he did not listen.

Elahi stated that he became chief minister via Allah’s mercy and the trust of the PTI president and that Imran Khan is Pakistan’s most popular leader.

The political veteran warned Khan about the ramifications of the dissolution, claiming that the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will target them (PTI and PMLQ).

Moreover, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, a senior leader PML-N, claimed that Pervaiz Elahi’s remarks on Fawad Chaudhry were regretful.
