LAHORE: Former Premier and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, alleged that the Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, is providing funds to a terrorist organization and they are planning a new attempt on his assassination.

During a live telecast speech, the former prime minister accused former president Asif Ali Zardari of providing funds to a terrorist group to carry out a recent assassination attempt on his life.

“Now, they have devised a Plan C, and Asif Ali Zardari is behind this. He has a significant amount of money obtained through corruption, which he embezzles from the Sindh government and uses to influence elections.

He has provided money to a terrorist organization and individuals from powerful agencies are aiding him. This has been planned on three fronts, and they will act soon,” he said.

The PTI chairman also implored the judiciary to take action at this “critical juncture” and guarantee that democracy and the fundamental rights of citizens are protected.

He also reminded the judiciary that the current government had appointed what he referred to as anti-PTI caretaker governments, which were hesitant to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within the constitutional time frame of 90 days.

“The government is attempting to instill fear in the public in order to coerce them into accepting rulers who are preoccupied with resolving their corruption cases and accumulating more wealth through corruption,” says Khan.

He claimed, “The people must break free from fear and rise up for their fundamental rights and the nation’s prosperity.”
