Najamuddin Khan, KP President of PPP Removed Due To Health Concerns

PESHAWAR: Najamuddin Khan, the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) President for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was dismissed from office on Friday. Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha, the province Senior Vice-President was appointed interim president in his place.

“Najamuddin Khan, President of Pakistan People’s Party, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is unable to continue political activity/responsibility owing to illness/medical reason,” according to a statement made by PPP Central Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari.

Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha, Senior Vice President of PPP KPK, would thus assume the role of acting party president in the province with the agreement of the appropriate authority. Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha, the party’s acting president, is a native of Malakand. He is now the Prime Minister’s special assistant for water resources and has the rank of minister of state.
