LAHORE: Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), will contest the upcoming election for all 33 seats of the National Assembly which are now vacant after the speaker Raja Parvez Ashraf accepted the resignations of PTI Members of NA.
During a recent media briefing, former foreign minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Imran Khan, former Premier, will contest the by-elections for all 33 seats of the National Assembly.
Qureshi stated that the PTI has decided to participate in the by-elections and that Khan will be the party’s candidate in all seats.
In the 2022 by-elections, Khan played a similar role and secured victories for seven seats in the jurisdiction of Karachi’s National Assembly seats.
However, a report from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) states that Imran Khan was successful in the by-elections for NA-22, NA-24, NA-31, NA-108, NA-118, NA-239, and NA-45.
On January 27th, the ECP announced the by-polls for 33 vacant seats of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stated in a notification that the by-election for the 33 vacant seats of the National Assembly (NA) will be conducted on March 16th.
“The candidates can submit their nomination papers from February 6th to 8th, and the scrutiny of these papers will be held on February 9th,” the notification stated.
The ECP announced that “the commission will allot symbols to the candidates by February 23rd.”
However, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced that they will not participate in the by-elections.
