ISLAMABAD:The session court of the Federal Capital has decided to frame an indictment against former Premier Imran Khan on February 7 regarding the Toshakhana case.
Imran Khan is accused of not disclosing the details of gifts he received from friendly countries during his premiership.
The case was heard in the court of District and Session Court Judge Zafar Iqbal, who asked about the power of attorney for Khan.
The counsel for the Election Commission, Saad Ali Bukhari, stated that “The power of attorney for Imran Khan cannot be presented in Khan’s absence.”
The court expressed frustration with the counsel for the Election Commission and warned against trying to direct the court. There have also been verbal tension between the ECP’s lawyer and the lawyer for the PTI.
The court ordered former Prime Minister Imran Khan to appear in the next hearing and submit surety bonds of 20,000 rupees.

The Toshakhana was established in 1974. It is a department under the administrative jurisdiction of the Cabinet Division. It stores presents that foreign dignitaries and heads of other governments have given to rulers, lawmakers, bureaucrats, and officials. The petition was filed in December 2022 by a man named Munir Ahmad.
