KARACHI: Three minor girls were taken to Lyari Hospital in critical condition and died, but the cause of death is still unknown. A post-mortem examination has not been conducted, said sources.
According to Capital TV, sources said, “over the course of 10 days, 5 girls aged 2 to 14 were taken to Lyari Hospital. Three died while the other two survived and were discharged after initial treatment.”
Sources stated that the cause of death remains unknown as post-mortem examinations have not been conducted. The girls were reportedly covered in blood when brought to the hospital.
According to sources, there are fears of sexual abuse in relation to the five girls.
According to the hospital administration, a two-year-old girl was brought in on January 18.
Her body was taken to Civil Hospital for examination of the cause of death, but the Civil Hospital administration returned the body without taking any action, according to sources.
“A 3-year-old girl was brought in on January 23 and a 10-year-old girl was brought in on January 24. The 3-year-old died before receiving treatment.”
“A 12-year-old girl was brought in on January 12 and a 14-year-old girl was brought in on January 24. Both girls were discharged from the hospital after initial treatment, according to sources.”
Four girls belong to Lyari, and one belongs to Baldia Town. So far, police have not initiated an inquiry into any of the suspected cases, according to sources.
