Rai has also removed the video to protect the child’s privacy. The activist expressed her gratitude for the police’s swift action but called them out for calling the kid ‘a boy,’ “At the same time, I am so disappointed by Lahore police’s reporting. She is a trans-child, not a boy.”

Public Health Policy Researcher and Trans-activist, Dr. Mehrub Moiz Awan agreed with Rai and stated this is why she didn’t say a word in this case, “She’ll now go from one traumatic situation to another. I hope and pray she is out of sex work and addiction soon.”
