NEPRA Announces Rs10.80 Reduction for KE Consumers

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved a reduction in electricity tariffs by Rs10.80 for consumers of KE, and Rs2.32 per unit for the rest of the country as part of the December monthly fuel adjustment.

According to the statement, issued by NEPRA, a public hearing was held at its headquarters on the December monthly fuel adjustment for KE, presided over by NEPRA Chairman Tauseef H. Farooqui.

NEPRA members Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh, Maqsood Anwar Khan, and Mutahar Niaz Rana were attended the hearing.

The regulatory stated that KE requested a reduction in monthly fuel adjustment by 10.26 rupees per unit.

“Authority verified the data and approved a reduction of Rs10.80 per unit in Fuel Charge Adjustment (FCA).

However, In November, fuel charges were reduced by 7.43 rupee per unit for one month only.”

Nepra said earlier in November fuel charges were reduced by Rs7.43 per unit as an adjustment, which was only for one month.

The statement further said that the FCA for December will be Rs3.37 per unit, which is lower than in November, and it will be applicable for o month only.

NEPRA said it will not be applied to lifeline consumers, domestic consumers up to 300 units, agricultural consumers, and electric vehicles at Char Jang stations.
