The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to again appoint Mickey Arthur as the Pakistan team’s director instead of head coach.

As per the sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to end the role of the head coach and instead work with assistant coaches.

The board will hire three coaches for batting, bowling, and fielding, along with a former South African cricketer.

Earlier, Haroon Rasheed, a former international cricketer, has been chosen to serve as the new chief selector of the national team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to the reports, his appointment has been finalized, and the newly appointed PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, is set to make the official announcement later today.

Haroon’s appointment is not a surprise because he has been involved with the PCB for a number of years in a variety of roles. In 2017, Haroon held the position of PCB Director of Cricket Operations. From 2015 to 2016, he held the position of the national chief selector. Between 2003 and 2005, he also managed the team.

Shahid Afridi’s appointment as interim chief selector ended after the New Zealand series, and the Najam Sethi-led PCB executive committee has been searching for a permanent replacement. As the new management committee chose to part ways with the previous selector Mohammad Wasim, Afridi was named as the interim chief selector.
