Who will play the lead role in the reboot of the Bollywood classic “Pakeezah”? There is confusion as both Mahira and Meera have come forward as contenders for the role.

Meera, the iconic actor, has confirmed her involvement in the upcoming remake of the Indian film “Pakeezah.” She will play the role of Meena Kumari, following news that went viral a few days earlier suggesting that Mahira would be the lead.

“I am going to play Pakeezah, 100%,” she said in response to a question if she has ‘replaced’ Mahira.
