Pakistani Businessman Survives Firing Attack in Karachi

KARACHI: Police said Wednesday that prominent businessman Mohammad Lakhani was injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on the car he was traveling in. The incident allegedly occurred in the SITE area.

The police stated that Lakhani and his driver were injured after being attacked, but no further information about the specific location of the event was given. “The businessman was shot but is out of danger and being treated at a private hospital,” police added.

Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, has taken note of the occurrence and requested a report from Mushtaq Maher, the additional inspector general of police. The chief minister has condemned the assault.
