Elahi Decides To Take Legal Action On Police Raid

LAHORE: Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, has decided to take action regarding the recent police raid on his residence in Gujrat and approach the court.

Earlier, The Punjab Police have raided the residence of Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, and the security personals have surrounded the house of Chaudhary of Gujrat for hours.

Elahi decided to file a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) and described the police act as unlawful and illegal.

The counsel for Elahi stated, ‘The police are conducting raids on the residences of Parvez Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi

Sources told Capital TV that during the raid, many security vehicles and personnel were fencing the house of Elahi.

Furthermore, the sources stated that during the action of the Punjab police, some vehicles were patrolling the surrounding area of the residence.

At the time of the raid, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi were not present in the home, but servants were.

When the team of Capital TV attempted to obtain a stance from the police, they declined to comment on the matter.

Elahi said, “Terrorists are carrying out attacks freely, while political opponents are being imprisoned.”

He claimed that the ruling authorities are not concerned about the country or the people.

Moonis Elahi, the son of Parvez Elahi, stated that the police raided their house without a warrant or a case.
