KARACHI: PM Shehbaz Sharif is to visit Karachi on a one-day visit on Thursday (today). PM will be part of the inauguration ceremony of the third unit (K-3) of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP).
From the start of the project, the total power generation from the nuclear power plant in Karachi will be 2200 MW. The Prime Minister will unveil the K-3 Power Plant.
The K3 nuclear power plant built in partnership with China has been built in Karachi. The total electricity production from Karachi will be 2200 MW from the Canap 3 project. Under CPEC, China has played a key role in controlling the electricity shortfall in Pakistan. Top officials of the federal-provincial government will participate in the opening ceremony of CANAP 3
The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) is ready to provide the country with another source of clean, reliable, and cost-effective electricity with the inauguration of the highly anticipated Karachi Nuclear Power Plant Unit-3 (K-3) today. K-3 is the second Generation-III nuclear power plant in Pakistan with a generation capacity of 1100 MW, which will undoubtedly aid in reducing power cuts, especially during the summer season.
