PESHAWAR: Following the wave of terrorism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on all political and religious leaders to put aside their differences and come together to eradicate terrorism.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister spoke about the terrible terrorist incident that took place in Peshawar on January 30, where a terrorist entered the police lines, passed through the checkpoint, and entered a mosque. This was a horrific incident similar to the Army Public School tragedy.”

Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire nation is grieving after the incident and questioning how it happened.

After the successful efforts to end terrorism through Zarb-e-Azab and Radul Fasad, these incidents are unacceptable, the Prime Minister said.

‘Baseless Propaganda is Surrounding’

The Prime Minister also criticized the baseless propaganda surrounding the incident and stated that the security lapses should be thoroughly investigated. However, it is inappropriate to make unsupported claims such as alleging a drone attack.

The Prime Minister said that the nation is currently focused on finding ways to control and eradicate the terrorism problem.

The Premier emphasized that it is crucial for all political and religious leaders to come together, put aside their differences, take responsibility, and confront terrorism.

The Prime Minister stated that terrorism was previously fought with bravery and sacrifices, and it will be fought again.

He emphasized the importance of speaking the truth and avoiding criticism for its own sake. If the recent incident was part of a larger conspiracy, then similar incidents in the past must also have been part of that conspiracy.

The Prime Minister declared that it was an act of terrorism and it must be crushed without delay. To achieve this, prompt action must be taken.

He said, “But my question is, where did the 470 billion rupees given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa go? It should be accountable and audited.”

“This money was for security purposes, if even half of it was used for this purpose, the people of the province would have slept peacefully, but it did not happen.”

Terrorism has no Religion, Faith, or Country

Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorism has no religion, faith, or country, and Pakistan was not created for this purpose. At this time, we have to set aside our differences and the political leadership, along with constitutional institutions, must work together or progress will not be made.

The Prime Minister said that in order to fight terrorism, we must move forward as a united front. Without uniformity in our words and actions, we will not be able to combat it. We must unite the entire nation or history will not forgive us.

He added that he had invited the leaders of all parties yesterday for the Apex Committee meeting and also for an All Parties Conference on Tuesday, to reach a consensus on this national issue.

At the end of his address, Sharif announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the injured in the Peshawar attack and Rs 20 lakh for the families of the martyrs.
